Hello and a heartfelt welcome!
My name is Roxi and I was born in Romania, but I am currently living in Virginia. I have spent one wondrous year in Austria (2010-2011), as an intern at Lernwerkstatt Pottenbrunn, a private school based on Maria Montessori, Rebecca and Mauricio Wild educational methods. It is an alternative school that has changed my life and views on teaching and personal development forever. I also have a BA and MA in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling and I have worked on numerous social projects at local foundations as a youth leader and project coordinator.
This blog contains book recommendations, pictures, ideas, quotes and reflections on the beauty around and within us (things that I stumble upon and believe are worth sharing). It is a platform for self-growth on which we share and celebrate the good and the positive. Its main purpose is to help our self-development process and highlight the positive.
You will notice that it contains five categories:
PLAY: ideas, suggestions, techniques, methods, to help you on your path to self-discovery and improvement. Why play? because life is, at its basis, laughter and joy; its source is goodness and abundance. We best learn (anything!) when we laugh, play, when we feel safe and when we are free. Free to explore, to choose, to take our time, to follow our rhythm, to decide. Life is a wonderful journey and the best playground we could have asked for. Let’s celebrate it by playing, loving and enjoying all the beautiful things it has to offer, most of them free.
PONDER: quotes and ideas to reflect upon. Question everything, taking nothing as it is given to you (be it news, media, parents/friends’ advice…) Decide what works and doesn’t based on your values, personal experience and self-reflection.
LOVE: poems, visions, stories of love. The greatest bond, the ultimate truth and mystery. In the end, the human body can live without the brain, but not without the heart.
SAVOUR/EXPLORE: photos from my travels or great and inspiring pieces of music, poetry and art. I love to travel! it is my greatest passion after self-development and then, I love art for being one of the highest forms of human expression, so vulnerable and yet, ageless and timeless.
My life and work values are: cooperation, peace, kindness, honesty and tolerance and you will see them reflected in the posts.
